THE INSPIRATION – THE K.U.K. INFANTRY REGIMENT NO. 4

Our watch IR4 was named after the k.u.k. Infantry Regiment “Hoch- und Deutschmeister” No 4. The regiment existed from 1696 until the collapse of the monarchy in 1918 and had battalions in Wien, Konjic and Wöllersdorf.

Regimental owner: the Regiment name derives from the founder of the regiment, the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, Franz Ludwig von Pfalz-Neuburg.

Ethnical composition: 95% German-speaking, 5% foreign-language / command language: German

Facing color: sky blue / Buttons: golden

Places of Service during the 1st World War: Eastern front (Russia) / Southeastern Front (Serbia) / Southern front (Italy)
